D.A.I.S.Y Readers and CD’s are now available
If you know someone who is legally blind or physically unable to read conventional print, then ask our library staff how they might borrow D.A.I.S.Y (Digitally Accessible Information System) disks and readers. This technology allows an entire book to be recorded on a single disk and the special players allow the user to bookmark, select pages and start where they left off, with audio instructions and help. The purchase of the special readers was made possible by a donation from the Didsbury Lions Club. The D.A.I.SY. disks are on loan from the CNIB. Visit your library for more details. Also, check out our new workstation for the visually challenged – purchased through Industry Canada’s Community Access Program.
