Supporting the Library: HOW YOU CAN HELP...
Libraries need your support and the support of our governments.
Please join the Didsbury Library Board and the Friends of the Didsbury Library in continuing communications with our Provincial and our Municipal governments to implement sustained and stable library funding.
- Get information about Provincial library funding.
- Contact our MLA Mr. Richard Marz.
- Contact the Honourable Mr. Ray Danyluk, Minister responsible for Municipal Affairs and Housing, Public Library Services Branch.
And remember one the best way to support your library is by using it and attending the programs!
Volunteering:
- as a trustee, you would serve on the Library Board. For more information see the Alberta Library Trustees Association website. Application is made to the Board in the form of a letter to PO Bag 10, Didsbury or an email to didsburylibrary@libs.prl.ab.ca. Appointments are made by the Town Council.
- as a service volunteer, you can help work in the library, shelving books, building displays and helping with special projects or with programs. Apply at the library.
- as a Friend of the Library, you would be a member of an organization formed for the purpose of raising money for the library. (See Inez Kosinski at the library to inquire about this.) For more information about Friends groups go to the Friends of Canadian Libraries site.
Donating:
- to the library collection through the Lois Hole Library Legacy Program
- used books that may be added to the collection or sold at our perpetual book sale to raise money for the library
- the cost of a magazine subscription and a label acknowledging their generosity is placed on the front cover of each issue – Adopt a Magazine.
- cash. Arrangements can be made to issue a tax receipt for donations over $10.00
